WHEN MAKING ANY BOOKING WITH PERRANPORTH SURF SCHOOL YOU ARE CONFIRMING THAT YOU HAVE READ AND AGREE WITH THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
1. The Booking
a. When booking your surf lesson(s) with Perranporth Surf School, a contract is formed once the booking process is complete and a payment is made, either partially or in full.
b. The person signing the booking form accepts full responsibility on behalf of all persons who form part of that booking, and for the full payment thereof. It is also their responsibility to ensure that all participants have read and understood these terms and conditions, and that they are aware of the details and requirements of the booking.
c. All participants must complete our declaration form before they will be allowed to take part in any surf lessons. A parent/guardian must sign on behalf of any participants under the age of 18yrs. Participants must be 7 years old or above to take part in an open-group surf lesson.
d. Perranporth Surf School do not accept any liability for any loss caused by failure to complete the declaration.
2. Changing your booking
Changing a booking – We will make every effort to accommodate any requests for changes to your lesson date/time, but this is subject to availability; tides; sea/weather conditions, etc. If we are unable to agree a mutually suitable alternative day/time, then a credit note will be issued.
All bookings are subject to a minimum deposit of £10/person, with any balances only due on the day of your lesson/course. Payments at the time of the event can be made by card or cash; or, with prior arrangement, by bank transfer.
If you need to cancel a booking within 7 days of the event, then the booking deposit is non-refundable. If payment has been made in full prior to the event, then a refund of the balance minus the deposit will be arranged, if rescheduling the lesson(s) is not an option.
For group bookings – if the number of participants in the group falls below the number originally booked, the deposits for those individuals will be non-refundable without a minimum of 14 days’ notice.
5. Liability and Other Important Information
a. The activity of surfing carries with it a degree of risk both to people and property, even when enjoyed under professional supervision. Surfing is a physically demanding activity that requires participants to have a reasonable level of fitness and swimming ability.
b. All participants suffering any physical or medical conditions, illnesses or allergies, including any prescribed medications, should make us aware of any such conditions or requirements at the time of booking. It is the responsibility of the participant with a medical condition to check with their doctor to find out if surfing is considered within their physical and or mental parameters.
c. No-one should participate in any surfing lesson if they are pregnant or suffering from a heart condition.
d. All participants must be able to swim at least 25 metres and should, under no circumstances, be under the influence of any alcohol, drugs or medication at the time of the lesson which may adversely affect their physical capabilities.
e. Participants must agree to abide to all instructions and decisions made by Perranporth Surf School and its instructors, to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants.
f. Participants will have the use of Perranporth Surf School’s equipment during their lessons and, although we take all reasonable measures to maintain their condition, course members are responsible for immediately reporting any damage caused to the equipment, or that which becomes apparent whilst the equipment is in their possession.
g. Perranporth Surf School does not seek to limit or exclude any liability for personal injury or loss of life which may occur because of its own negligence or that of its employees, officers or agents however, Perranporth Surf School assumes no liability in respect of any personal injury, loss, damage, consequential loss or third-party claims which occur through no fault of its own, its employees, officers or agents. All other liability or conditions implied by law are excluded fully.
6. Surf conditions
In the rare event that Perranporth Surf School considers sea conditions to be unsuitable for surf lessons, or in the event of the lifeguard servive closing the beach (red flag), then an attempt will be made to reschedule the session to a more suitable time/day. If rescheduling the session is not an option, then a credit voucher or refund will be given.
Perranporth Surf School’s guide to places to stay is intended only as a guide to assist our guests with booking accommodation. Perranporth accepts no responsibility for any aspect of participants’ accommodation bookings, or any complications or problems arising thereof.
8. Brochure and website accuracy
a. Whilst every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of Perranporth Surf School’s website and advertising/marketing material, it is intended only as a guide to the services it provides, and Perranporth Surf School is relieved of any liability due to any errors or omissions it may contain, or any minor discrepancies between the brochure or website's content and that service.
b. Any likeness or image of participants secured or taken on any of Perranporth Surf School courses may be used by Perranporth Surf School, without charge, in all media for genuine promotional or marketing purposes; to include all brochures; leaflets; videos; internet and social media platforms. If you, the participant, prefer not to be used in any promotional materials, please inform Perranporth Surf School in writing prior to your course.
The prices printed on this website/form are valid at the time of publication. Perranporth Surf School reserves the right to increase or reduce any of these prices any time after publication. Any changes will be made clear at the time of booking.
10. Gift Vouchers
Unless otherwise stipulated, gift certificates will be valid for 1 year from the issue date. All gift certificate redemptions after 1 year are at the discretion of the manager.
